Stanford HIT Fund Opens 2026 Call for Pre-Proposals

Pre-proposals are due May 24, 2026

The Stanford High Impact Technology (HIT) Fund is now accepting pre-proposals through May 24th for awards to transform breakthrough innovations into impact beyond the lab.

The HIT Fund is a proven partner for helping innovators develop a business-centric mindset and a clear commercialization strategy—whether the best outcome is a license or a startup. With $4M invested to date, the HIT Fund has helped 26 teams collectively raise $100M.

Leveraging the HIT Fund’s tailored commercialization support, including a bespoke advisory team, a dedicated MBA Fellow acting as a hands-on business partner, and non-dilutive funding up to $250k, Stanford innovators become investor-ready and increase both the pace and potential for success on the journey from researcher to licensor or entrepreneur.

"Doing a startup is hard work, especially for someone with no experience. The HIT Fund program guided us every step of the way — from company concept to incorporation, venture funding strategy, partners, and when needed, simply a sounding board. I don't think our startup would exist without the HIT Fund." — Professor Sally Benson, PI, Energy Science & Engineering
