Visitor Policy

Stanford University's Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) welcomes visitors from all over the world who are interested in learning how we conduct our licensing activity. OTL's website (http://otl.stanford.edu) provides a comprehensive source of information about our operations and policies and should be reviewed prior to any meeting.

In order to meet the increasing number of visitor requests, OTL has established monthly informational meetings. 

Individuals

For 1- 4 people the meeting is offered on the first Friday of every month at 10:00am at no charge.

Groups

For groups of 5 to 25 people, OTL offers informational meetings weekly on Fridays at 10:00am.  

For groups of 5-10 people, the fee for this meeting is $250.

For groups of 11-25 people, the fee for this meeting is $500.

If your group would like a specially arranged meeting at another time, we can try to arrange one based on your schedule.

For groups of 5-10 people, the fee for a specially arranged meeting is $1,000.

For groups of 11-25 people, the fee for a specially arranged meeting is $2,000.

Visitors who wish to attend the Friday Info Meeting or arrange for their own meeting should send an email to shawn.harlan@stanford.edu ahead of time to make a reservation.

Educational DVD available for purchase

Inside Stanford's Office of Technology Licensing DVD is a collection of 4 hours of interviews and presentations by Stanford's Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) professionals, providing an engaging and detailed overview of Stanford's technology transfer process, plus a set of documents (e.g., example license agreements, job descriptions, sample standard operating procedure guidelines, etc.) for reference.
